The Assembly Deputy Speaker Dr Hans Raj said the Chief Minister had recently announced to open a degree college in Masroond area in Churah Assembly constituency that would start functioning soon.

He added that the college would benefit the youth of 27 panchayats of lower Churah.

The deputy speaker made the announcement during an event in which he laid the foundation stone of the new building of ayurvedic health centre at Hamalgala. The building will be constructed at a cost of Rs 62 lakh.

Hans Raj said that to further strengthen the electricity supply in the constituency, approval had been given to open an electricity division at Tissa and an electricity sub-division at Nakrod.

He said the upgradation work of Pukhri to Masroond-Sidhkund-Sarol road was in progress on which an amount of about Rs 23 crore would be spent.
