Himachal Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kuldeep Pathania attended the 85th All-India Presiding Officers Conference in Patna, inaugurated by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Chairman of the All India Standing Committee of Presiding Officers. Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly Deputy Speaker Vinay Kumar accompanied Pathania.

Speaking at the conference, Pathania emphasised the need to rise above party politics to strengthen the Parliamentary system, legislative assemblies, and councils. He stressed that governments may change, but the system must function within established norms. “Our duty is to strengthen democracy, ensuring a strong and progressive nation,” he said.

Pathania highlighted the significant responsibility of public representatives in a democracy, urging them to remain conscious of their roles. He called the conference a valuable platform for state representatives to unite and work towards democratic resilience. “Uniformity of thoughts and collective action will fortify the country,” he added.

The conference was addressed by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Bihar Legislative Assembly Speaker Nand Kishore Yadav, Deputy Chief Ministers of Bihar Vijay Kumar Sinha and Samrat Chaudhary, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary and Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Dr Harivansh.
