A special campaign has been initiated by the Ayush Department to create awareness on health, diet and lifestyle among people in the district. District Ayurvedic Officer Dr Praveen Sharma said the campaign, which began earlier this month, had a target to cover 10,000 persons in Solan district. The target is set to be achieved by December 25 and 7,200 persons had already been covered under this campaign so far.
The District Ayurvedic Officer said the goal of ayurveda was to protect the health of a person by ridding him/her of any disease. To fulfill this purpose, an app has been prepared by the Central Ayush Department named “Prakruti Parikshan” which was available on Play Store.
“According to ayurveda, almost all diseases arise from the defects of Vata, Pitta and Kapha. Ayurveda ensures the treatment of the disease by mitigating these aberrations. Improper diet, unhealthy routine, poor lifestyle and stress cause various diseases. Ayurveda focuses on the better health of a person by removing the imbalances,” explained the officer.
He said “Prakruti Parikshan” was an important method in ayurveda. In this, the nature or temperament of a person was evaluated. In this test, the balance of various major elements and doshas ie Vata, Pitta, Kapha is measured. The test proves helpful in knowing the physical, mental and emotional tendencies of the person.
He said through “Prakruti Parikshan”, a doctor can provide personalised diet, lifestyle and medical suggestions to the person for his protection and balance. The District Ayurvedic Officer said through the “Prakruti Parikshan” app, the nature of the person will be tested and that person would be advised on diet to be followed to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
An individual will have to download the “Prakruti Parikshan” app, following which a quick response (QR) code will be issued on the user’s mobile phone. After scanning this code, the doctor will provide key health information which will be sought through 12 questionnaires in the app. A sentence will also have to be spoken on live video. After submitting the information, a QR code will be generated and one can have a data base of one’s health information. Dr Sharma urged the people to download this app to have a healthy and happy future.
