The minister directed the NHAI and MoRTH to ensure the timely execution of national highway projects in the state. Key agenda items, including ongoing and upcoming projects, were discussed extensively. Issues such as land acquisition, forest clearance, environmental concerns, dredging of the Beas River, utility shifting and dumping sites were deliberated at length. Vikramaditya Singh emphasised inter-departmental coordination to overcome these challenges efficiently and minimise losses during disasters.
He instructed all relevant departments to work closely with NHAI and MoRTH authorities to expeditiously resolve pending issues. Highlighting the importance of road infrastructure in promoting tourism, economic growth and trade, the minister assured the full support of the state government for timely project execution.
Vikramaditya also appreciated the efforts of NHAI and MoRTH in highway construction and the restoration of damages caused by heavy monsoon rains. He directed officials to address the genuine grievances of local residents promptly.
