Speeding truck runs over pedestrians; 1 killed, 4 hurt

Palampur, February 3

A woman was killed and four others were injured when a speeding truck ran over pedestrians on the Palampur-Jaisinghpur highway near Maniyara village, 25 km from here, last night.

Palampur DSP Lokinder Negi said four pedestrians were on their way home last night when the truck hit all of them, killing Kamala Devi on the spot. Bhavna, Aradhya and Daljit Katoch were seriously injured. Truck driver Moredwajj was also seriously injured.

The DSP said all injured persons were rushed to the Palampur Civil Hospital. The truck driver was later referred to Tanda Medical College.
