Prabal Kumar Negi, a Class VIII student at St Edward’s School, was declared the overall winner of the state-level ‘Kalam of Himachal’ competition, organised by Vidyapeeth academy.

He was awarded the distinction at the academy’s annual ceremony ‘Confluence 2025’ in Shimla. Around 18,700 students from across the state had participated in the competition.

While receiving the award, Prabal expressed gratitude to his parents and teachers, stating that Vidyapeeth had offered him a platform that helped him sharpen his talent and gain recognition across the state. He said the competition encouraged confidence, creative thinking and expressive abilities among students.

The class-wise state-level winners were also awarded on the occasion. The winners included Rudra Pratap Singh of Class VI and Suvansh Chauhan from of Class VII. In Class VIII, Etish Sharma secured the first place, followed by Sparsh Gupta and Arnav Sharma.
