The Kinnaur Chief Medical Officer, Dr Sonam Negi, today said check-up camps would be held at several locations across the district under the Integrated Health Awareness Campaign. Starting August 12, the campaign would be inaugurated by Kinnaur Deputy Commissioner Amit Kumar Sharma at the Community Health Center, Nichar, she added.

Free medicines would be provided under the campaign, organised under the aegis of the Department of Health and Family Welfare.

Dr Negi said during the camp, tests such as chest X-rays, blood pressure checks, haemoglobin tests and screenings for TB, HIV, Hepatitis B and C and diabetes would be conducted at no cost.

Those requiring further treatment would be referred to Regional Hospital, Reckong Peo, she added. — OC
