The 30th Himachal Pradesh State Shooting Championship is scheduled to take place from August 14 to 18 at the 6th IRB Battalion campus in Dhaulakuan, Sirmaur. The event is being organised jointly by the Himachal Pradesh State Rifle Association and the Sirmaur District Rifle Association.

General Secretary of the Himachal Pradesh State Rifle Association, Ishwar Rohal, and the 6th IRB Battalion’s shooting coach, Inspector Suresh Kumar Chauhan, said the championship will feature a wide range of shooting disciplines. Competitions will be held in rifle, small bore, pistol and shotgun categories, covering all age and gender divisions — senior, junior, sub-junior, men and women.

In the rifle events, participants will compete in 50m Rifle Prone, 50m Rifle 3 Position, 10m Air Rifle, .22 Open Sight Rifle and .22 Open Sight Rifle 3 Position. Pistol events will include 50m Pistol, 25m Centre Fire, 25m Standard Pistol, 25m Pistol and 10m Pistol categories. Shotgun enthusiasts will take part in Trap, Skeet, and Double Trap competitions.

The championship is expected to draw skilled marksmen and budding shooters from across the state, offering them an opportunity to showcase their talent on a professional platform. As per the organisers, entries must be submitted online through the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) online system between August 1 and 13.
