Two athletes from Himachal Pradesh University (HPU) have won silver medals at the Khelo India University Games 2025, which concluded on December 5 in Rajasthan, bringing pride to both the university and the state. Nancy Thakur secured a silver medal in the 76 kg wrestling category, while Vanshika Goswami won silver in the heavyweight boxing competition.

Congratulating the students, the HPU Vice-Chancellor, Mahavir Singh said, “The girls, with their exceptional performance at the national level, have proved that HPU is a centre of talent, discipline and excellent training. Their achievement has brought immense pride and joy to the entire university.”

The VC also congratulated their families, coaches and the University’s Directorate of Sports for these remarkable achievements.

He added the university administration will continue its efforts to strengthen sports facilities and ensure the holistic development of its athletes in the future.
