The Indian Pencak Silat Federation is organising the Pre-Teen, Sub-Junior and Junior National Pencak Silat Martial Arts Championship, which is set to end on November 18. This will be followed by the Second All-India Pencak Silat Martial Arts Championship from November 19 to 21 at the Sher-e-Kashmir Indoor Stadium in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir.

Azad Himachal Pradesh Pencak Silat Association President Joginder Singh said the state’s team — consisting 14 boys and 10 girls — departed from Mandi on November 15 to compete in the Pre-Teen, Sub-Junior, and Junior categories of the championship.

The referees for the competition from the state are Rohan and Devgay Awasthi from Mandi district.

The team is led by Azad, with Rakesh Kumar (Mandi) as the male coach, Neha Vashisht (Kangra) as the female coach, and Ajay Kumar as the team manager.
