Street plays in Shimla stir hope for drug-free tomorrow

As part of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, artistes today took to the Ridge with powerful street plays aimed at spreading awareness on drug abuse. Organised by the District Welfare Officer Department under the district administration’s directive, the performances were staged by The Beginners Group, affiliated with the Department of Information and Public Relations, at the Open Air Theatre.

The plays highlighted the alarming rise in drug addiction, especially among the youth, and urged the community to unite against the menace. Through compelling performances, the artistes conveyed that the unwavering support of family and friends plays a crucial role in helping individuals lead a drug-free life.

The message resonated strongly—only a united and conscious society can curb this growing problem. The call was clear: a drug-free society is not only healthier but stronger and more empowered.
