The Municipal Council (MC), Nurpur, had installed a large number of iron dustbins in various parts of the town for the collection of house waste and garbage. However, a number of these are in a poor condition. The lids of these dustbins have worn out and garbage can be seen littered around these on roadsides, attracting stray animals. These dustbins have ironically become a nuisance for public. The MC authorities should either replace or repair damaged dustbins. — Praveen Sangalia, Nurpur

Unreasonable speed limits

The police in Una are using speed guns these days to challan people for over-speeding. However, the speed limits fixed by police at certain places are unreasonable. A speed limit of 60 km/hour has been fixed on the express highway, which is unreasonable. Inside the cities at certain places, a speed limit of 20 km/hour has been fixed, which is not practically possible to maintain for any four-wheeler. Since Una is in plains, the police should be more practical while fixing speed limits. — Amarjeet Sharma, Una
