As many as 21 persons, including returnees from Mumbai, tested positive in the state today, taking the number of corona patients to 247, including 175 active cases and five deaths.

Most of them had come from Maharashtra and other states and were under institutional quarantine.

Surge continued in Hamirpur as 15 cases were reported during the day. They include a 54-year-old man from Tareti village, 49-year-old man from Jhareri village and two from Naduan — a 55-year-old man and a 65-year-old woman. The other four who have tested positive are a 49-year-old man from Jhaniyara village, a 45-year-old man from Dhangota village, a 50-year- old man from Telhi village and a 26-year-old woman from Kashmir village.

The patients have been shifted to Bhota. With these new cases, the total number of cases in the district had risen to 78.

Three cases were reported from Kangra, two from Chamba and one from Shimla. One case was also reported from Una, taking the total number of cases to 31.The fresh case is that of a man who had returned from Delhi and hails from Chatadgarh village.
