Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Repaswal today said that the survey would collect detailed information on the travel behaviour of Indian households, including the purpose of travel, duration, type of journey, money spent and the mode of transport used. The data would help the government better understand domestic tourism patterns and frame policies to boost local tourism infrastructure and services, he added.

Teams from the District Statistics Office and the Directorate of Economics and Statistics are conducting door-to-door visits in select villages to record the responses of households directly. The information is being entered online for greater accuracy and transparency.

The Deputy Commissioner appealed to local residents to cooperate with the survey officials and provide authentic information. He assured people that all data would remain confidential and would be used only for statistical analysis. He said that such surveys were crucial for identifying tourism trends and supporting evidence-based planning for sustainable tourism growth.
