Speaking to mediapersons in Mandi recently, SJM Himachal Pradesh prant pramukh Anupama Singh said the campaign aimed to promote self-reliance and economic independence.
“The campaign will be taken forward like the freedom movement” she said. “The SJM is running this campaign under the vision of ‘Mega India: Make India Great Again’ — promoting Make in India”.
The campaign called for boycotting products from countries such as China and the US, reducing foreign dependency, and supporting local artisans and businesses, she added. “The SJM believes that reducing the use of foreign goods, discouraging foreign education (with some exceptions), and promoting indigenous production would help save valuable foreign exchange and generate decentralised local employment and welfare,” she said.
