Widening the scope of the Mukhyamantri Swavalamban Yojana, the state government has now included e-rickshaws, three-wheelers and other light commercial vehicles for self-employment, Deputy Commissioner Vivek Bhatia said here on Monday.

Bhatia exhorted the unemployed youth to come forward and derive the benefits of the Mukhyamantri Swavlamban Yojana for plying of e-rickshaw, driven by solar power, and three-wheelers.

Bhatia said small commercial vehicles like Mahindra Pik-Up, Tata Chota Hathi etc up to the cost of Rs 10 lakh and mobile food van had also been included in the scheme.

“With the inclusion of small commercial vehicles, farmers can take their produce to market and it will become easier to transport building materials to remote areas connected by small roads,” Bhatia said. Under the scheme, not only the subsidy from 25 to 35 per cent would be provided but also the interest rate up to five per cent would be waived for three years on the loans, Bhatia said. — OC
