Dr Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College (RPGMC), Tanda, observed World Diabetes Day with an extensive awareness programme and special meeting aimed at educating the public on diabetes prevention and management.

The event saw the active participation of Principal Dr Milap Sharma, Medical Superintendent Dr Vivek Banyal, Head of Medicine Dr Dheeraj Kapoor, Head of Endocrinology Dr Vinay Dogra, along with Professor Vivek Sood, Dr Manju, Dr Shakun, and other faculty members.

Addressing the gathering, experts highlighted the growing prevalence of diabetes and its impact on public health. They discussed various forms of the condition — Type 1, Type 2, and gestational diabetes —shedding light on their causes, symptoms, and available treatments. Speakers stressed that lifestyle modifications, including regular physical activity, a nutritious diet, and maintaining a healthy weight, remained the most effective tools in preventing and controlling diabetes.
