Tap non-conventional energy sources: Himachal minister Govind Singh Thakur

Education, Art, Language and Culture Minister Govind Singh Thakur presided over the Ujjwal Bharat Ujjwal Bhavishya function at the Atal Sadan here today. Two documentaries about the development of electricity infrastructure in the country and electrification of rural areas were screened on the occasion. A play was also presented by artistes engaged by the Public Relations Department.
The minister said emphasis should be laid on harnessing non-conventional sources of energy to preserve the environment. He added that various kinds of subsidies were being provided by the Central and state governments to promote non-conventional sources of energy.
