Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar today said that the reflection of society should be visible in the condition of the universities. He said that universities like Nalanda and Taxila were famous because of their teachers and the environment they provided. The Governor today visited Sardar Patel University and SLBS Government Medical College in Mandi.

“This is the time when we have to prepare ourselves to lead the country. The teachers have the responsibility of giving direction to society. We have to develop different approaches. The feeling of discharging responsibility should be awakened,” he said while interacting with faculty members of Sardar Patel University, Mandi.

Vice Chancellor, Sardar Patel University, Mandi Prof DD Sharma welcomed the Governor and detailed about the activities of the university.

Later, the Governor visited Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Government Medical College and Hospital, Mandi, and planted saplings on the premises.

The Governor then visited the dialysis centre at Sundernagar run by the District Red Cross Society, Mandi and interacted with patients and enquired about various facilities being provided to them.
