The state Department of Technical Education and the Indian Institute of Technology, Mandi, signed a memorandum of understanding for faculty development in Mandi on Tuesday.

The MoU was signed by Director, Technical Education, Vivek Chandel and Director, IIT-Mandi, Prof Laxmidhar Behera.

Chandel said, “The IIT-Mandi agreed to facilitate training and upgrade faculty of government engineering and polytechnic colleges along with ITIs of the state to cope up with the challenges of latest advancements in technology and their application in the world of work.”

“As per this agreement, in the first phase, the IIT will facilitate the first batch of 20 faculty members each from engineering and polytechnic colleges.

Each batch will undergo for seven days a fully residential faculty development programme at the IIT-Mandi in July and August this year.
