Urban Development Minister Suresh Bhardwaj said that tendering for the already identified Smart City projects would be done by August 31. “Smart City projects had slowed down in the recent past but now all projects would gather pace,” he said after a review meeting of the Smart City projects.

The minister said the maximum focus would be laid on digitalisation of all services so that people did not need to visit the MC and urban development offices.

He reveled that more than 3,000 people had already applied for employment under the Chief Minister’s urban employment scheme launched in the wake of coronavirus. The scheme promise 120 days of assured employment to the applicants living in the urban areas.
