Principal Pushpa Sharma was the chief guest. A five-member Scouts team welcomed the District Commissioner, Guides Wing, Pushpa Sharma. The guest was welcomed by presenting a scarf. A flag-hoisting ceremony was observed, followed by a flag song. Prayers were sung while paying tributes to Lord Baden Powell. Cubs and Bulbuls Scouts and Guides participated in the prayer. The Principal encouraged students to join the Scouts and Guides movement. She also asked students to obey Scouts and Guides laws and to be disciplined. A cleanliness rally was flagged off by the Principal.
Two students of Sarvodya Model High School, Dehra, won scholarship in matriculation examination.
The students — Kanika Thakur and Vashika Sharma — of Class X were given a laptop and Rs 20,000 each from the Himachal Board of School Education, Dharamsala.
Principal PC Chauhan congratulated the students for achieving merit in the examination.
A group of students of Indus International University, located in Bathu village of Una district, participated in a three-day workshop on “Design and Characterisation of Microwave Components and Antennas” at Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology in Patiala from February 22 to 24. University Vice Chancellor Subramanian Raman Aiyer said the workshop had helped provide practical exposure to engineering students, adding that the university promoted such exchange programmes.
Students, staff and management of Arihant International School bid farewell to the outgoing Class XII students. The programme commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp by Anil Jain, chairman of Mata Padmawati Educational Society. Sachin Jain, general secretary of the society, and teachers marked their presence on this occasion. Students of Class XI presented bhangra and gidda performances and recited poems on the occasion. Reminiscing the school days, students also presented a skit. Miran Sheikh was adjudged Mr Farewell and Jasmine Miss Farewell. Anil Jain asked students to achieve their goals and bring glory to their parents, teachers and students while Sachin Jain said with the advancement of technology and modernisation, students should not forget their values.
Class XI students of Comet Mensa Senior Secondary Public School, Dehri, organised a farewell party for outgoing Class XII students. They were welcomed with a cake-cutting ceremony. Activities like passing the parcel, candle game, modelling, catwalk, group dance were organised on the occasion. Vishal Singh was chosen as Mr Farewell, Gunjan Rana as Miss Farewell, Abhishek Kumar bagged the title of Mr Handsome and Damini Sharma that of Miss Charming. Managing Director Vasu Soni, Director Poonam Soni, Director Academics Ravinder Pathania, Director Administration Anita Pathania and Principal Sunny Jaswal wished students a bright future and advised them to attain their goals by hard work.
