Love is not limited to humans; it thrives just as profoundly in nature and among wildlife. This Valentine’s Day, a new love story is unfolding at Renukaji Mini Zoo. After a long wait, Kapil, the lonely bear, has finally found his companion, Devaki. Similarly, the zoo’s only male emu has been paired with a female brought from Gopalpur Zoo. These new unions are not only bringing joy to the animals but also marking a positive step towards wildlife conservation.

For the past two years, Kapil, the male bear of Renukaji Mini Zoo, had been living in solitude. Often seen wandering alone in his enclosure, his days were spent in quiet isolation. However, this year, fate has taken a turn for the better. The Forest Department rescued a female bear, Devaki, from Tutikandi in Shimla and brought her to Renukaji. With her arrival, the zoo’s bear population has now grown to two.

According to forest officials, the two bears will soon be introduced to each other in a shared enclosure. But the question remains—will they bond? Will Kapil accept Devaki? Or will they continue to live separately? While time will reveal the answers, Devaki’s arrival has undoubtedly brought a new ray of hope in Kapil’s life.

Kapil is not the only one experiencing a new beginning. Renukaji Mini Zoo’s lone male emu has also found a companion. A female emu from Gopalpur Zoo has been introduced into his enclosure, allowing the two to gradually become comfortable with each other. Their presence together is expected to be a delightful attraction for visitors.

Once known for its lion safari, Renukaji Mini Zoo has undergone many changes. Due to genetic complications, the lion breeding programme was discontinued, and over time, the lions disappeared. Efforts to introduce a pair of tigers also remained unsuccessful till now. However, with the arrival of these new pairs, the zoo is regaining its vibrancy.

This initiative is not just about providing companionship to the animals—it also represents a significant step towards wildlife conservation. Visitors will now have the opportunity to witness these new relationships blossoming, making their experience at the zoo even more memorable.

This Valentine’s Day, love is not just about human relationships — it is also about bonding with nature and caring for wildlife. With Kapil and Devaki, and the new emu pair, Renuka Ji Mini Zoo is witnessing a revival of life and affection. So, this Valentine’s, let love transcend beyond hearts and reach the forests, the animals, and the conservation efforts that make our world a better place.
