Una, October 23

Three persons, two from Mandi and one from Kullu were arrested in Una last night for possessing narcotics. According to a press release by SP Arijit Sen, a joint team consisting of personnel from the Anti-Narcotics Task Force and CID, Kangra, stopped a car for checking at Lalsingi village near Una city.

On searching, 2.516 kg of marijuana was recovered from the vehicle. The accused have been identified as Bala Ram, resident of Teel Wali Chowki in Mandi tehsil, Prakash Chand, resident of Padharni village in Sainj tehsil of Kullu district and Hem Raj, resident of Saugali Chowki village, Mandi.

The SP said the vehicle was checked after receiving information, adding that a case under Sections 20, 29, 61 and 85 of the NDPS Act has been registered against the accused.
