The police arrested three more persons in the alleged hit and run and attempt to murder case here yesterday. Those arrested were identified as Akshit, Keshav and Pankaj, all residents of Hamirpur district. The police had already arrested Rasik, a resident of Lalhadi village near Hamirpur, in the case.
On November 13, the police had stopped a car in which the trio was travelling on the suspicion of drug trafficking. However, the accused fled after injuring Inspector Kulwant Singh, SHO of the Sadar police station. The SHO had opened fire in self-defence but the accused fled. The police suspected that they were smuggling ‘chitta’. SP, Hamirpur, Bhagat Singh Thakur said that the police had recovered four grams of ‘chitta’ from the accused.
