The fire started around midnight in a one-storey building and spread rapidly, destroying mobile phones, LEDs, refrigerators, stationery and household items worth around Rs 20 lakh. However, the Fire Department’s prompt action averted damage to the property. The cause of the fire is yet to be determined but preliminary investigation suggests a short-circuit may be the reason.
