Amarjeet Kumar Sharma, State Chief Commissioner of Bharat Scouts and Guides, Himachal Pradesh, and Director of Higher Education in the state government, has been awarded the Silver Elephant Award, the highest national honour for exceptional service in the scouting movement.

The award was presented by Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel at a special ceremony at Raj Bhavan, Lucknow.

Sharma has served as State Chief Commissioner since 2018. Under his leadership, scouting activities in the state have expanded, earning national recognition for initiatives that provide fresh direction to students, volunteers and trainers. His efforts include modernising camps, upgrading training programmes and emphasising character building among youth.
