PM Shri Rajkiya Senior Secondary School, Totu, recently emerged victorious in the skit competition on the theme ‘Safe Construction Practices’ held at Gaiety Theatre. The event was organised by the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) in celebration of International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction-2024.

Government Model Boys Senior Secondary School, Lalpani, stood second in the competition while the Government Secondary School, Annadale, bagged the third position.

A total of 11 schools participated in the competition. Jawahar Kaul, Rupesh Bhimta and Poonam Sharma served as judges at the occasion. The PM Shri Rajkiya Senior Secondary School, Totu, team will have the opportunity to present the skit at the state-level ceremony to be held on October 14, where they will be honoured by Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu. Kaul praised all teams for their excellent performances and noted that their presentations provided valuable insights into safe construction practices. He expressed hope that as these students grew up, they would avoid mistakes made by previous generations in building homes.

He emphasised the importance of soil testing, selecting a good engineer and having proper blueprints during construction.

He also shared insights into the intricacies of the theatre world, which would help students perform better in future competitions.
