The Tourism Department has prohibited rafting and paragliding in Kullu during monsoon from July 15 to September 15.
Every year, the adventure activities involving rivers and aero sports are suspended for these two months in the wake of safety reasons.
Rafting, kayaking, river crossing, zip lining, rappelling, paragliding, hot air ballooning and all such adventure sports have been banned to avoid unforeseen incidents. The operations of other adventure activities, such as trekking, rock climbing, zorbing balls, rolling balls, bungee jumping, ATVs and mountain biking will continue.
Kullu District Tourism Development Officer (DTDO) Sunayna Sharma said all kinds of aero and water adventure activities will remain suspended for two months. She said the water levels can rise abruptly during the weather and the winds are also not favourable to conduct aero sports. She said the department would maintain strict vigil and legal action would be taken against the violators.
