Transportation rates for apples notified

Shimla Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap has fixed subdivision-wise rates for apple transportation on kilogram basis instead of number of boxes.
He said a meeting was organised by Subdivisional Magistrates (Civil) with the representatives of local truck operator union and apple producers’ association, during which the rates had been fixed for apple transportation charges and the same had been sent for an approval.
“The rates have been fixed on per quintal basis and legal action will be taken against defaulting truck, mini truck, pick-up and operator unions for overcharging,” he warned.
The rate for six-wheeler and over six-wheeled trucks going from Theog to Delhi has been fixed at 90 paise per km. For Tata 407 and Eicher four-wheelers, the rate has been fixed at Rs 1.50 per km till Chandigarh. For transportation by pick-up for a distance of more than 20 km the rate has been fixed at Rs 2.30 per km. For pick-up running on the link road within a radius of up to 20 km, the rate has been fixed at Rs 2.50 per km.
The rate for trucks and other vehicles going from Rohru to Delhi has been fixed at 90 paise per km. The rate for trucks and other vehicles till Chandigarh has been fixed at Rs 1.30 per km. For transportation by pick-up for a distance of more than 20 km, the rate has been fixed at Rs 2.30 per km. The rate for pick-up running on the connecting road within a radius of up to 20 km has been fixed at Rs 2.50 per km.
The transportation fee from Kotkhai to Chandigarh and for a distance less than 250 km has been fixed at Rs 1.30 per km. For Delhi and a distance of more than 250 km, the transportation rate has been fixed at 90 paise per km. Transportation charge has been fixed at Rs 1.50 per km from Rampur to Chandigarh and 90 paise per km for Delhi.
