The Congress paid tributes to Virbhadra Singh on his third death anniversary during a programme held at the party headquarters here today.

Finance Commission Chairman Nand Lal, Shimla Zila Parishad Chairperson Chander Prabha Negi, other Congress leaders and hundreds of party workers paid tributes to the six-time Chief Minister. Virbhadra Singh breathed his last on July 8, 2021.

The Congress workers at the party’s district headquarters and blocks across the state also paid tributes to Virbhadra and recalled the development works done by him for the state.

“Virbhadra Singh served the state for 65 years. He gave new dimensions to the development and developed every corner of the state,” said Nand Lal. He said Virbhadra Singh did unprecedented work in the fields of health and education. “Besides building medical colleges, he strengthened health services in rural areas,” Nand Lal said, adding that it’s for these reasons he is known as the creator of modern Himachal.

Paying tributes to Virbhadra Singh, Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri said, “He was the champion politician of the state for six decades. His life is an inspiration for all of us,” Agnihotri said.
