Truck plunges into gorge, driver dead

A truck driver was killed after his vehicle veered off the road and plunged into a gorge at Chaned near Chamba town on Friday morning. Deceased has been identified as Swarup, a resident of Bikaner in Rajasthan.
The police said, the ill-fated truck, transporting floor tiles, was en route to Chamba when the accident occurred around 5 am. Prima facie the driver lost control on the wheel while negotiating a curve.

Hearing the loud crash, local residents rushed out of their homes and reached the accident site. They promptly informed the police, who arrived at the scene shortly after. With the help of the villagers, the police conducted a challenging rescue operation and managed to pull the injured driver out of the wreckage. He was rushed to the hospital but was declared brought dead by the doctors.
