UNA, DECEMBER 27

Una Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Manisha Goyal today convicted Nanak Chand and Suman Lata, both residents of Santoshgarh in Una district, under various sections pertaining to cheating and forgery. The two have been sentenced to serve imprisonment ranging from 2 to 5 years under various sections of the IPC.

According to District Attorney Bhisham Chand, a woman complainant had got a case registered, claiming that a plot of land belonging to her had been fraudulently sold by Lata to Nanak Chand by misrepresenting herself as the owner of the plot.

The District Attorney said after the trial, the accused had been sentenced to 5 years imprisonment under Sections 467 and 468 IPC, three years under Section 420 IPC and two years under Section 471 IPC.
