The Himachal Pradesh Ophthalmological Society organised a two-day midterm conference for the post-graduate students of ophthalmology at Hotel Hamir.

Ophthalmologist Dr Anil Verma said 75 senior doctors from government and private hospital from the state, Punjab and Chandigarh participated in the event, which concluded today.

As many as 42 research papers on various subjects of ophthalmology were presented by research scholars, Dr Verma added.

He said Dr Kusha Chaudhary, a post-graduate student of Indira Gandhi Government Medical College, Shimla, was awarded the Best Paper Presentation prize, Dr Navpreet Kaur, a PG student at IGMC, Shimla, won the second prize. Prof Dr Gursatinder Singh, guest faculty at the programme, delved into the progression of glaucoma and its impact on human life.

RKGMC former Principal Dr Anil Chauhan delivered an address and shared his experiences with the gathering.
