Two persons were killed and three others injured when a pick-up vehicle they were travelling in plunged into a gorge near Hinner village at Chail in Solan district last evening.

The vehicle was carrying labourers when the mishap occured. The police were yet to ascertain the cause of the accident .

SP, Solan, Gaurav Singh said that driver Aman (31), a resident of Chopal in Shimla, and a Nepalese were killed on the spot. The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital but from there they were referred to the Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC) and Hospital, Shimla.

A case of causing death due to rash and negligent driving has been registered and a probe is underway.
