Two youths of Mandi district were killed when a truck, they were travelling in, fell into a gorge near Ropsang village in Lahaul-Spiti district today.

The deceased were identified as Chetan (21), a native of Chindi village in Karsog, and Manu (19), a native of Kunshet village in Seraj of Mandi district.

SP, Lahaul-Spiti, Rajesh Dharmani told The Tribune that both were found dead on the spot.

In another case, a vehicle plunged into a river near Sissu Nullah in Lahaul-Spiti yesterday. It is suspected that the driver had failed to negotiate a curve near the Sissu bridge. Yet it is not clear how many persons were in the vehicle.

The district administration has launched a search operation to locate the missing vehicle and victims. Now, we will take the help of the Army to

locate the missing victims, said the SP.
