The Himachal Pradesh Government has designated two paddy procurement centres in Sirmaur district to facilitate farmers during the current marketing season. District Controller, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Shamsher Singh, said paddy will be procured at Dhola Kuan and the Agricultural Produce Market Committee (APMC) yard in Paonta Sahib.

The procurement process will commence on October 3, with Grade-A paddy purchased at the government-declared minimum support price (MSP) of Rs 2,389 per quintal.

To ensure transparency and ease, farmers must register themselves on the official portal www.hpappp.hp.gov.in, which has been functional since September 8. Through the portal, farmers can record their produce details and select the procurement centre most convenient for them.

The District Controller urged farmers to take full advantage of the facility and sell their crop only at the designated centres. He emphasised that this arrangement will safeguard farmers from exploitation and guarantee that they receive the MSP without hassle.

For any queries, farmers can contact the office of the District Controller, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Nahan at 01702-222558 or the Regional Manager, HP State Civil Supplies Corporation, Nahan, at 01702-222258, on any working day.
