The court of Judicial Magistrate, First Class, Jawali in Kangra district, yesterday convicted Ganesh Kumar and Raj Kumar, residents of Pathankot, under the NDPS Act and sentenced them 17 days’ imprisonment. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 9,000 on them.

Assistant District Attorney (ADA), Jawali, Ravi Kumar, who represented the government in the case, said that on the night of October 9, 2015, a Jawali police team was on traffic checking duty at Bharmar. He added that a vehicle passing through Bharmar started turning back on seeing the police team, making the latter suspicious. The police stopped the vehicleand seized 76 gm of hashish from the possession of the occupants.

The Jawali police registered a case and arrested the duo.
