The police have arrested two women drug traffickers and recovered 50.42 grams of charas, 15.84 grams of ‘chitta’ (heroin) and Rs 78,000 cash from their residence.

The women identified as Asha Kumari (70) and Suman (40), both residents of Sakot village in Kangra district, were apprehended during a joint raid conducted by the CIA staff and the local police near the Kangra Mandir railway station.

SP Ashok Rattan said that a case had been registered against both women under various sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. An investigation into the case was underway, he added.
