Students of the University Institute of Technology (UIT), Himachal Pradesh University (HPU), showcased their creativity and problem-solving skills during the Internal Hackathon 2.0 for Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2025, held on the occasion of Engineers’ Day. The event was organised by the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) at the institute, under the guidance of Prof AJ Singh, Director of University Institute of Technology, HPU, Shimla.

Around 150 students from diverse engineering disciplines participated, presenting innovative projects and ideas addressing real-world challenges such as disaster management, smart systems, Internet of Things (IoT) applications, energy management, education and skill development.

The hackathon provided a platform for students to demonstrate technical expertise and innovation while competing for the opportunity to represent University Institute of Technology at the prestigious national-level Smart India Hackathon 2025. The event was coordinated by Dr Kapil Bhatt and Dr Rajesh Chauhan.

The selected teams will now advance to the national stage of SIH 2025, bringing pride to the institute. Expressing gratitude, Dr Bhatt, president of IIC, thanked the faculty members, the technical support team and coordinators Dr Shyam Chand and Dr Praveen Kumar Sharma for their invaluable contributions to the success of the event.
