Senior BJP leader said the chair of the Una SDM was lying vacant for the last one month and people were running from one office to another to get their routine works done. The DSP Headquarters, who is a former kabaddi league player, is away on official duty as team coach in the ongoing National Pro Kabaddi league. It is the duty of the government to send a replacement so that work does not suffer.
The BJP leader alleged that some senior district level officers were seldom found at work, but were visible in the social media through their reels.
Satti said in the last two years, many instances of extortionists becoming active have emerged. The victims had reported the matter to police. However, he said, police had not acted on any of these cases and the victims have been forced to settle cases or negotiate on their own.
Satti said illegal mining was rampant and overloaded tippers were leaving the Swan riverbed every day and night. He said a new mafia in the pharmaceutical sector had taken roots with some doctors at the district hospital prescribing medicines of two chemists and druggists only. He said liquor mafia is flourishing, leading to inter-gang rivalries. This was resulting in shootouts and murders.
The senior BJP leader said the district police was busy issuing traffic challans. He said as per his information, 400 challans are being issued in and around Una city every day and that 1.25 lakh citizens have been issued challans during the last one year. He charged that gambling was thriving under the nose of the district police.
Satti said during the last three months, torrential rain and floods have caused heavy losses to farmers and other residents, but not a single officer has reached out to these families. He said many roads remained closed. Despite detailed project reports having been submitted by the PWD officers, the government has not sanctioned any funds.
