The Centre has agreed to grant extension to the Bulk Drug Park (BDP) project in Una till March 2026. The decision was taken in a review meeting of the Scheme Steering Committee (SSC) for Bulk Drug Park (BDP), Una, in New Delhi today under the chairmanship of Secretary, Department of Pharmaceuticals Arunish Chawla to deliberate on the extension for the drug park tenure up to the 2026 and to assess the work progress in the park.

During the meeting, Rakesh Kumar Prajapati, Director Industries cum-Managing Director-cum-CEO, Himachal Pradesh Bulk Drug Pharma Infrastructure Limited (HPBDPIL), presented the broad plan of the Bulk Drug Park along with other details. Prajapati explained the rationale behind the requested extension and highlighted the significant impact of the natural disaster that struck the state last year. He also pointed out the delays in obtaining environmental clearance and other related requirements.

Director Industries assured the committee that the project would be completed within the new agreed timelines. The SSC’s decision to extend the BDP Scheme tenure reflects their commitment to ensuring the successful completion of this critical project, he said.
