A workshop on digital education for schoolchildren and ITI students was organised by the district administration at the Una Town Hall today.

Inaugurating the workshop, SDM Vishva Mohan Dev Chauhan said enrolment for most government schemes had been digitised, and digital payment and online banking systems were also in place.

Citizens needed to be educated regarding the proper use of these applications, besides being cognisant of the increasing instances of cyber fraud, he added.

The SDM said while digitisation of government schemes had made work faster, transparent and paperless, it was pertinent for people to know how to use these platforms to avoid middlemen, who might defraud them.

The students and teachers present at the workshop provided information about operating through secure websites and secure payment channels. They were also informed about cyber laws.
