The Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Una, has been selected by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, along with 19 other institutions of higher education for the Capacity Building Programme on Design and Entrepreneurship (CBDE) under the aegis of Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Programme. IIIT DM Kancheepuram has been outlined as the node centre for the programme.
According to a press statement issued here today by the IIIT (Una) Director Binod Kumar Kanaujia, the CBDE Program aims to enhance the capacity of faculty members and students with a focus on design and entrepreneurship.
The shortlisting process for the CBDE programme involved various criteria, including the ranking of the institution among the top 200 institutions in the National Institute Ranking Framework and enrolment in the National Innovation & Start-up Policy.
Kanaujia said the scope of work of the CBDE programme involved curriculum adjustments, faculty mentoring, innovation support, vision alignment and readiness to implement the programme. The CBDE programme at IIIT (Una) would help build the capacity of the faculty, support student teams with funds, create an infrastructure for learning-by-doing, and foster partnerships with industry and government in order to align with the National Education Policy 2020 goals, he added.
