The unchecked installation of advertising boards has marred the town’s aesthetics, with advertisers even encroaching upon the protected forest near the Deputy Commissioner’s residence. Residents were shocked during their morning walks to find flex banners and plastic sheets fixed on nearly every electric pole. The situation was worst in Hira Nagar, where low-hanging boards obstructed pedestrians on footpaths.

Bihari Lal, a local resident, lamented the town’s disfigurement, saying, “It seems no one is monitoring this mess. The forest area near the DC’s residence is a favorite among walkers, but these advertisements have ruined its charm.”

Neelam Kumari, a regular morning and evening walker, expressed dismay over the boards hanging from newly installed decorative streetlights. She urged the authorities to designate specific locations for advertisements and take immediate action to restore the town’s beauty.

Municipal Corporation Commissioner Rahul Chanuan clarified that no permission was granted for such advertisements. He assured that all unauthorized boards and flex sheets would be removed promptly.
