Former Congress President Sonia Gandhi, who is staying with her daughter Priyanka Gandhi at Charabra near here, today visited the Indira Gandhi Medical College for a routine medical check-up.

Sonia, who arrived here three days back from Delhi is staying at Priyanka’s house in Charrabra near Mashobra, about 12 kilometres from here. Doctors at the IGMC said Sonia was brought to the hospital in the afternoon, following some blood pressure related issue.

An IGMC spokesperson said she had come for a routine medical check-up as a part of preventive and diagnostic care. He said that a few checks were conducted under the supervision of specialised doctors, and she was medically fit and fine.

He stated that all necessary protocols were maintained without disturbing the visitors. Sonia is a frequent visitor here, ever since Priyanka constructed her cottage in Charabra, close to the Rashtrapati Niwas.
