Mahana visited the historic Council Chamber Assembly where the Himachal Vidhan Sabha holds its sessions. Pathania told Mahana that the Council Chamber was a historic building constructed between 1920 and 1925 at a cost of Rs 10 lakh. "This building was the first National Assembly of the country and it was here that Vithalbhai Patel defeated his British rival by two votes and became a member of the National Assembly to become the Chairman,” he added.

Pathania said that it was here that a resolution for giving voting right to women and the "The Quit India" resolution were passed. He told Mahana that the Council Chamber also had the honour of being the Punjab Legislative Assembly. It was the main building of the Himachal Legislative Assembly from 1952 to 1957 and again July 1, 1963, onwards, he added.
