Bollywood actress Urmila Matondkar, in a reply to a legal notice sent to her by Dharamsala-based lawyer Vishav Chakshu, has stated that she did not have any intention of hurting the sentiments of people of Himachal Pradesh. The actress also denied having made any such statement, he said.

Vishav Chakshu had sent a legal notice to her after her statements were reported in a section of media in which she had alleged that Himachal Pradesh was the “origin of drugs” and that Kangana Ranaut should start her fight against the drug menace from her home state.

Chakshu said Urmila, through her lawyer, had stated that she had not made any defamatory statement against the state. Urmila has further clarified that she had raised her voice against the evil of drug menace created by anti-social elements and drug dealers who were scheming to destroy the youth of the country, Chakshu said. — TNS
