The Una Forest Department will conduct physical test for the recruitment of 66 ‘Van Mitras’ in all forest beats in the district on February 6.
Una Divisional Forest Officer Sushil Kumar Rana said the department had received 2,498 applications for 66 posts, of which 109 were found invalid and rejected. The remaining 2,389 applicants have been called for physical test on February 6 at 7 am on two different locations depending on their place of stay.
Rana said applicants from Una, Rangarh and Bharwain forest ranges will appear for the test near Shiv Shankar cold store located on the old Hoshiarpur road, while those belonging to Amb and Bharwain forest ranges will appear at Government Senior Secondary School, Beher Jaswan.
The DFO said candidates would be tested for physical endurance, which will include 5-km run for male and 1.5-km run for female candidates. Besides, physical parameters such as height and weight of the candidates would also be recorded.
Rana said while the Beher Jaswan school ground would be used to conduct running tests for candidates appearing there, those appearing at the old Hoshiarpur road near Una city will run from the place of test to the Rampur bridge over Swan river. He added that the district administration has been requested to ensure traffic management during the test.
