Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar accorded warm welcome on arrival in Shimla

Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar was accorded a warm welcome on his arrival here today. Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla and Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu extended a warm welcome to the Vice-President at the helipad. Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri and Public Works Minister Vikramaditya Singh, who has been designated as the Minister-in-Waiting for the Vice-President’s visit, were present on the occasion.

On his arrival at the Raj Bhawan, a ceremonial Guard of Honour was presented. On behalf of the people of Himachal Pradesh, the Governor honoured him by presenting him a traditional Himachali cap, a shawl and a memento.

The Chief Minister later called on Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar at Raj Bhawan. During the interaction, both dignitaries held discussions on various development issues pertaining to the state. The Vice-President will be staying at the Raj Bhawan during his two-day visit and is scheduled to visit Solan tomorrow.

The CM presented the Vice-President traditional handcraft products made by self-help groups under the National Rural Livelihood Mission, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Himachal Pradesh. Lt General Devender Sharma, GOC-in-C, ARTRAC and Mayor Surender Chauhan along with other senior officials of the state government were also present.
